      The goal To introduce students to the dominant trends in Slovak prose creativity in the second half of the 20th century and to interpret the most significant prose works of this period.
      The outcome The student remembers the most significant prose writers of this period and their works, gains insight into the dominant trends in Slovak literature in the second half of the 20th century and relates them to tendencies in world literature.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures The subject covers prose in the second half of the 20th century through a presentation of individual stages: post-war pluralism, schematism and attempts to overcome it (A. Bednar), modernism of the Young Creativity generation with elements of existentialism (J. Johannides), magical realism (P. Jaros), autobiography (R. Sloboda). Prose in the era of "normalization".
      Contents of exercises Analysis and interpretation of the most significant prose works such as novels and short stories by A. Bednar, D. Tatarka, V. Šikula, J. Johannides, P. Vilikovsky, R. Sloboda, D. Mitana, P. Jaros, etc.
