| The goal | The aim of the teaching practicum is to develop professional competencies in the field of foreign language instruction. Through direct insight into the teaching process and participation in Spanish language classes at a selected educational institution, students will develop the knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes necessary for the preparation, organization, delivery, and evaluation of Spanish language teaching. | |||
| The outcome | General learning outcomes: higher level of professional competence; students' ability to systematically and critically analyze various elements of the language teaching process. Higher level of academic, digital, and teaching competence, as well as improved collaboration skills. Specific learning outcomes: students understand, analyze, and apply knowledge and skills related to different elements of Spanish language teaching in their own teaching practice. They know, understand, and apply key documents and regulations related to foreign language teaching in the Republic of Serbia. They understand the reality of the school environment and participate in school life. They participate in the preparation, organization, delivery, and evaluation of Spanish language teaching. They are familiar with relevant professional associations and make informed decisions about participating in their activities. They understand key trends related to current language teaching policies and advocate, critically and constructively, for improving the quality of Spanish language teaching in the country. | |||

| Contents of lectures | Within the course, periodic interactive lectures and meetings are organized to address the following thematic units: language education policies; key documents and regulations in the education system of the Republic of Serbia; school structure and organization; school documentation; preparation and delivery of instruction; student assessment; teaching evaluation; relevant professional associations. | |||
| Contents of exercises | In addition to the 60 hours of classroom observation the course includes the following student activities: Regular observation of Spanish classes; work with students and consultations with the mentor; Regular completion of the “Teaching Practice Diary”; Preparation and participation in Spanish teaching; Participation in remedial and enrichment classes, as well as other extracurricular activities in agreement with the mentor; Assistance in student assessment in agreement with the mentor; Analysis of teaching documentation. Students complete the course activities with a demonstration lesson. | |||
