    The goal To introduce students to the main orientations and authors of Slovak poetry in the second half of the 20th century and to interpret the most significant poetic works from this period.
    The outcome The student will remember and recognize individual poets and their works, placing them in the context of the development and typology of Slovak poetry in the second half of the 20th century, as well as in the broader context of general literature.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures The subject covers poetry in the second half of the 20th century with individual stages: post-war pluralism, dogmatism of the 1950s, the "golden 1960s", the period of normalization. The emphasis is placed on the most significant representatives of key generations of poets and their poetics, as well as on the influence of the social situation of that time on their work.
    Contents of exercises Analysis and interpretation of the most significant poets, such as M. Rufus, M. Valek, concrete poets (J. Ondruš, J. Staho, Lj. Feldek), the generation of Lonely Bandits (I. Laučik, I. Štrpka), as well as selected poets with artistic achievements in the 1970s and 1980s.
