    The goal To introduce students to the main trends in Slovak poetry and prose after 1989 and to interpret the most significant works of this period.
    The outcome The student analyzes and remembers the dominant tendencies in contemporary Slovak literature and relates them to previous periods and the broader context (social, political, cultural, literary).
    Contents
    Contents of lectures The subject covers poetry and prose of the 1990s and the beginning of the 21st century in the period of the re-establishment of literary pluralism after 1989. Poetry: postmodern tendencies - text generation (P. Mačovski, P. Šulej), poetry of privacy and spiritual poetry. Prose: postmodern tendencies (P. Vilikovski, P. Pišćanek, Bala), feminist prose (J. Juranjová), "expat" prose (Z. Keplova, I. Dobrakovová), realistic tendencies (P. Rankov, M. Kompanikova).
    Contents of exercises Analysis and interpretation of key poetic and prose works.
